Family First: The Center Point of My Life
This is my first blog post, so I’m going to keep it pretty simple and brief. Honestly, I just wanted to get something real on my site that actually represents who I am.
If you follow my journey at all, you’ll hear me talk about building things from nothing, working hard, and chasing goals. But underneath all of that, there’s one thing that matters more than any project, any paycheck, or any milestone:
Family is the center
Family is the center point of my life. It’s the reason I work hard, the reason I care about quality, and the reason I’m so passionate about building furniture that brings people together.
A table isn’t just wood and screws and finish. It’s where life happens.
It’s where kids do homework.
It’s where you eat dinner after a long day.
It’s where you celebrate birthdays.
It’s where you talk about the good stuff and the hard stuff.
It’s where you reconnect.
To me, family is the foundation. When family is strong, everything else has a better chance of being strong too.
Family doesn’t have to be blood
One thing I’ve learned is that family doesn’t always mean blood relatives.
Family can be the people who show up.
Family can be the friend who checks in when you’re stressed.
Family can be the people who encourage you when you’re trying to build something and you feel like you’re doing it alone.
Family can be the crew that tells you the truth, but still has your back.
If you don’t have the “perfect” family situation, you’re not disqualified from having family. Find your people. Build your circle. Be the kind of person you’d want in your own corner.
We’re stronger together
I’m a big believer that we’re stronger together than we are alone.
Sure, you can grind by yourself. You can push through. You can get things done.
But life hits different when you’ve got people around you who care. People who celebrate the wins with you and help you carry the weight when things get heavy.
That’s true in business.
That’s true in life.
That’s true in faith.
And it’s true in family.
A quick challenge
If you’re reading this, here’s my challenge for you:
- Reach out to someone you consider family today.
- Tell them you appreciate them.
- Make time for the people who matter, even when life is busy.
None of us are promised unlimited time. And I don’t want to look back one day and realize I built a lot of things—but missed the people who mattered most.
Closing
This blog is going to be a mix of shop life, mindset, faith, business lessons, and behind-the-scenes of what I’m building. But no matter what I post, just know this will always be at the core:
Family first.
Appreciate y’all.
You got this!
